Dictionary Lesson Plan
Appropriate for Grades 2 – 7.
Overview:
Design a page on which you can write new words and their meanings. Draw lines to write on
and illustrate the page with smart pictures. Print the sheet out and keep it in your desk. You
might like to make one sheet for every letter in the alphabet then print them and staple them together in a small booklet.
Activity:
1. Start MS Word.
2. Type the heading Your Name 's Personal Dictionary.
3. Press the Enter key twice.
4. Type the heading A.
5. Press the Enter key twice.
6. Hold the full stop key down (……………….) to draw 2 lines of dots to write on.
7. Press the Enter key twice.
8. Hold the full stop key down to draw a couple of lines to write on.
9. Press the Enter key twice.
10. Repeat this process until you have filled a page.
11. For each of the headings: double click on the heading, choose Bold from the Style menu.
12. You can also change the font and size by choosing the font or size you want from the Font and Size menus.
13. Choose Save As: from the File menu.
14. Navigate to your floppy disk or folder.
15. Type a name for your file.
16. Click the Save button.
17. Choose Print from the File menu.
18. Click the OK button.
