I like the outlines of lessons - they give me ideas for expanding in my own way. Example: p.33 of your book. I used the Maths text book for years 9 and 10 (Q'ld) and had the brighter and quicker students find out how to enter formulas to calculate the area and volume of various 2 and 3 dimensional objects. We than looked at the exercises on more complicated shapes and worked on solving these, too, with great ease - result was high motivation (getting the answer before the teacher could look up the answer in the back of the book!).
